Continuing in his series of cabaret performances based on the theme of “Songs I Love To Sing,” Aron Bederson explores we get through challenging times? Where do we find meaning and hope? In music of course, and more specifically, great songs.
In this show Bederson sings about the challenges and blessings of quarantine and coming out of it and honors the composers and lyricists who tell our stories. Each song is a time capsule of the artist’s as well as our own life and times as we interpret them.
The accomplished and critically acclaimed Frank Ponzio will Music Direct and play piano and Tom Hubbard plays bass. Broadway veteran and MAC winner Rosemary Loar will direct. The program includes songs from theatre, the singer/songwriter genre and jazz. Some of the composers includes Rickie Lee Jones, Tom Waits, Jason Robert Brown, Duke Ellington, , Laura Nyro, Rosemary Loar and more.
Aron Bederson comes to cabaret from years in developmental theatre, musicals and opera. He played Mark Manton in the Obie award winning musical Bound To Rise with Medicine Show Theatre Ens.; many Cole Porter musicals with the company and developed his own show at Medicine Show based on the correspondence of Thornton Wilder and Gertrude Stein. He is the assistant Cantor at The Actors Temple and teaches piano and voice in Westchester and privately. He can be reached at AronBedersonmusic.com.
