On April 1st, Ronnie Lane’s birthday, we celebrate his life and music. Ronnie “Plonk” Lane was the creative heart of two of Rock n Roll’s quintessentially English groups, during the 60s with the Small Faces, and during the 70s with the Faces. After he left the Faces, he continued to perform and record solo and with his band, Slim Chance, and also worked in the studio with Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend and Ronnie Wood, among others. Lane co-wrote many Mod anthems including “All Or Nothing,” “Itchycoo Park,” “Here Comes The Nice,” and “My Mind’s Eye,” and Faces’ classics such as “Ooh La La” and “Debris,” as well as solo hits “The Poacher” and “How Come,” among others. He also co-wrote all but one of the 1968 concept album, ‘Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake,’ which topped the UK Album Charts for six weeks.
As Ronnie would say, “We promise you a NICE evening.”
