New York, N.Y. October 7, 2020 – The unadulterated joy of singing is the inspiration for this year’s annual Singnasium fundraiser, PAINT THE TOWN, WHATEVER TOWN YOU’RE IN, Thursday, Oct. 15 at 7:30pm, available on Singnasium’s YouTube and Facebook pages. While there is no charge to access the event, which can be found at http://bit.ly/SingnasiumPaintTheTown donations are gratefully accepted.
The virtual fundraiser for New York City’s non-profit vocal performance collaborative showcases powerhouse performances and appearances by Broadway luminaries including Grammy Award winner Julie Gold, Tony Award nominee Sharon McNight, Cabaret legend Karen Mason, jazz sensation Gabrielle Stravelli, and Broadway/film star Mykal Kilgore. The evening kicks off with an original number, PAINT THE TOWN, with words and music by Michael Holland.
Said Lennie Watts, Singnasium’s founder and creative director, “I couldn’t be prouder and more excited to debut the One Voice project at this year’s fundraiser. I have always loved this song, and found that its message of unity, hope and optimism is just the thing we need most this year.”
PAINT THE TOWN will also present its first Jim Speake Award, named for one of the original Singnasium founders, to Cabaret Grande Dame KT Sullivan, who epitomizes Singnasium’s mission to provide support, embrace diversity and offer a safe, non-judgmental space for artists and singers of all levels to fully explore their creative selves.
For those wishing to donate to Singnasium’s PAINT THE TOWN fundraiser, special gifts will be available as a token of thanks for supporters’ generosity, including a complimentary Singnasium class with a donation of $2500 or more.
